Ipanema has chosen Shakira, a renowned Latina pop culture icon, as its new global brand ambassador. In 2024, Shakira will debut as an ambassador for Ipanema’s Sempre Nova collection campaign for the spring/summer season. The partnership is expected to last until the end of 2024. Kate Minner, CMO of Grendene Global Brands, Ipanema’s parent company, expressed her excitement about Shakira joining as the global ambassador for Ipanema Sempre Nova. The upcoming Sempre Nova collection features five different styles of sandals available in adult, children, and baby sizes. Each design is a fusion of fashion and trend, targeting the modern woman’s spirit. The announcement follows Ipanema’s re-entry into the US market earlier this year with a new wholesale and retail strategy. The brand’s relaunch was made possible by the joint venture between Brazilian sandal manufacturer Grendene and independent investment company 3G Radar, forming Grendene Global Brands, which manages eight brands: Melissa and Mini Melissa, Ipanema, Rider, Cartago, Zaxy, Grendha, and Pega Forte.
