Shakira, the famous Colombian singer and philanthropist, recently visited Qatar as a guest of the Education Above All Foundation. She attended the WISE Summit 2019 and learned about Qatar Foundation’s efforts and initiatives in education, science and research, and community development during her visit to Education City. Shakira is known for her humanitarian and advocacy work on universal education and early childhood development. She has founded several foundations, including the Barefoot Foundation, which aims to make education available to every child; the Pies Descalzos Foundation, which focuses on improving children’s education, nutrition, and health; and the ALAS Foundation, which supports the implementation of integrated early childhood public policies. As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, she continues to inspire and promote her social causes.
