Performing on a funky Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles float, she twerked and sang her new single “Melanin” with high energy. The crowd was also treated to her hit song “Level Up.” Ciara looked stylish in a scarlet puffer coat, matching pants, a knit beanie, and a sweater by Monclear. Her new single “Melanin,” which she performed at the American Music Awards, features well-known stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Ester Dean, City Girls, and La La.

According to the People Magazine interview, Ciara highlighted the significance of recognizing and appreciating one’s true self, including the beauty of melanin.

She is set to perform at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve for the third consecutive year, where she will co-host alongside Ryan Seacrest, Lucy Hale, and Billy Porter. While Ciara will be based in Los Angeles for the event, Porter will host from New Orleans, and Hale will join Ryan in Time’s Square.

'I want my fans to feel the true power of loving themselves for who they are. Embracing not only your inner, but your outer self, and the uniqueness of the color of your skin and whatever that means to someone,' Ciara told People Magazine.

The festivities kicked off at 9 am eastern time and followed a scenic route from West 77th Street on the upper west side, down to Central Park West, before making its way to Macy’s Herald Square location on 34th street.
